Job summary

Pima Medical Institute's Mesa campus is hiring a part-time Laboratory Assistant – Pharmacy Technician to support morning lab sessions (8 hours per week) on-site at 957 S. Dobson Road.

You will work with program faculty to set up pharmacy lab scenarios, supervise practical skill check-offs, and help students master essential equipment and procedures. Responsibilities include grading with instructor keys, providing academic feedback, and maintaining confidential student records while coordinating

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program recognized by the USDE or CHEA (or recognized equivalent/foreign entity) AND three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience in a practice setting or expertise in the Pharmacy Technician field.
• OR A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for those who are not graduates of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
• Verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in professional communication

Responsibilities

• Lab Preparation & Instructional Support: Coordinate regularly with program faculty to develop, schedule, and execute practical morning lab scenarios.
• Hands-on Demonstration: Demonstrate proper operation of all pharmacy lab equipment and safety protocols.
• Supply Management: Monitor lab inventory and prepare restock requests for the Faculty Coordinator or Office Assistant.
• Student Advising & Grading: Assist instructors with skill check-offs, grade assignments using instructor keys, and advise students on progress.
• Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain confidential student records in accordance with policy and participate in trainings.
