Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to join the team at Loyola University Medical Center and Gottlieb/MacNeal system in Illinois. This full-time position offers Day shift hours with competitive hourly pay and benefits from day one.

Responsibilities include collaborating with sales reps to gather drug information, managing inventory within formulary guidelines, and performing technician duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred.
• 1–2 years as Pharmacy Technician requested.
• Current IL licensure as Pharmacy Technician required.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification required for technicians licensed after Dec 31, 2007.

• Maintains inventory within formulary specifications and budget constraints.

What you’ll do:

• Meets with sales representatives to obtain information about new drugs and sales promotions Practices appropriate inventory control and accountability procedures to ensure adequate inventory within budget constraints Determines appropriate drug inventory levels following formulary specifications and usage trends Perform other technician duties as assigned.

What you’ll need for this job:

• High School Diploma
• Preferred: Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program
• 1-2 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Student enrolled in a college of Pharmacy preferred
• Experience in a customer service pharmacy environment or related field preferred
• Current IL licensure as a Pharmacy Tech
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification validated by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT validated by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required for all technicians licensed after December 31st, 2007. Newly licensed technicians have 2 years from license effective date to obtain their CPhT and become licensed as a registered certified pharmacy technician.

Pay Range: $20.02 - $31.03 per hourActual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
