Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Inventory Specialist for the Mail Order Pharmacy in Randolph on a per diem schedule. The role supports procurement of outpatient medications, manages inventory, and ensures accurate tracking of orders and returns.

Responsibilities include maintaining purchase invoices, rotating stock to meet USP guidelines, processing drug returns, running reports from the pharmacy system, and coordinating EDI/SFTP transmissions with wholesalers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college courses preferred.
• 3–4 years shipping, receiving, inventory or pharmacy experience preferred.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with MA Board of Pharmacy and national certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain purchasing invoice records and Track & Trace compliance.
• Manage medication inventories, rotate stock, and stock daily wholesaler deliveries.
• Process drug returns promptly and reconcile credits from invoices.
• Run reports from pharmacy system to optimize daily orders and PO numbers.
• Handle SFTP transmissions and EDI files for inventory data.
• Identify EDI transmission issues and communicate corrective plans.
• Conduct cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain filing and paperwork for transfers of medication and supplies.
