Job summary

USA Health is seeking a Pharmacy Buyer to support procurement, inventory management, and budgeting for medications and non-drug supplies. The role involves coordinating with pharmacy leadership, accounting, and purchasing to ensure timely requisitions, POs, and accurate cost control.

The candidate will maintain DSCSA compliance, manage contracted vendors, and assist in drug shortage management while upholding hospital policies and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• LPT - licensed pharmacy technician current registry with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board is required.

Responsibilities

• Procure medications cost-effectively and manage department inventory.
• Assist Director of Pharmacy with budget and billing issues.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable and Purchasing for requisitions and PO processing.
• Maintain DSCSA compliance and accurate record-keeping for medications and controlled substances.
• Assist in drug shortage management and backorder communication with vendors.
• Support training of technician staff and ensure department policies are followed.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Licensed Pharmacy Technician (LPT) current registry with Alabama State Board of Pharmacy

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - PTCB
