Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks a Pharmacy Buyer to lead drug procurement and inventory for the Pharmacy Department. The role supports technicians, manages purchases, and coordinates with hospital vendors to ensure accurate supply and timely medication delivery.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory levels, processing orders and recalls, and ensuring proper use of pharmacy information systems. Experience in healthcare purchasing is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• PTCB Certification.
• SC Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
• Advanced purchasing experience in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drug procurement and inventory management to ensure drug availability.
• Monitor backorders, shortages, recalls, and source alternatives.
• Maintain pharmacy information systems and automated hardware/software.
• Process requisitions, PO creation, and vendor invoices.
• Assist with workflow and duties of pharmacy technicians.
• Collaborate with hospital departments for medication ordering.
