Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to manage inventory, purchasing, and distribution of pharmaceuticals in compliance with laws and regulations.

You will support 340B programs, monitor budgets, process charges and credits, and assist in central fill operations while maintaining accurate records.

Requires a high school diploma, formal pharmacy technician training, 3 years hospital experience, and active/pharmacy tech certification; registration by 2026.

Qualifications

• 3 years in a hospital pharmacy technician role.
• Effective June 28, 2026; upon hire and before start date, registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician through the PA State Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Procures inventory, purchasing, receiving, and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
• Monitors hospital medication inventory and supports department needs.
• Maintains 340B records and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Assists pharmacy management with budget monitoring and reporting.
• Processes patient and department charges, credits and billing information.
• Performs pharmacy technician duties and participates in compliance efforts.
• Operates central fill equipment safely.

Education

High school diploma / GED

Formal pharmacy technician training program

Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT

PA State Board of Pharmacy registration (by 2026)
