Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the registered pharmacist by processing medication orders, stocking inventory, and assisting patients with prescriptions. This role includes outpatient and inpatient tasks, and requires adherence to HIPAA and company policies.

Candidates must have a Pharmacy Technician Certification and complete training; PA board registration required by start date; strong attention to detail and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT (NHA) required
• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or 1 year equivalent experience
• Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician through PA State Board of Pharmacy by start date (Effective June 28, 2026)

Responsibilities

• Processes medication orders including computer order entry and prepares items prior to pharmacist check
• Maintains pharmacy inventory and supplies per policies
• Assists customers with prescriptions and documents required information
• For Outpatient Techs: validates insurance coverage and handles cash and deposits
• For Inpatient Techs: compounds, stocks, and prepares IV admixtures and related orders
• Central Fill Pharmacy: operates equipment safely
• Other duties as assigned
