Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to manage procurement, storage, distribution and costing of pharmaceuticals in a hospital setting. You will handle recalls, returns, credits and ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, formal technician training, and at least 3 years in hospital pharmacy. Certification (CPhT/ExCPT) and state registration are required before start date.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program is required.
• At least 3 years of experience as a hospital pharmacy technician.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT is required unless working at the Central Distribution Service location.
• Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician before start date is required.

Responsibilities

• Procure, store, distribute and account for pharmaceuticals and related products.
• Monitor hospital medication inventory including floor stock and automated dispensing cabinet inventory.
• Participate in network supply chain purchasing and maintain purchase records and related databases.
• Manage 340B medications, maintain split billing files and ensure 340B compliance.
• Assist in monitoring the department's drug budget and report significant price/contract changes.

3 years hospital pharmacy technician experience
