Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern in the United States to learn and assist the pharmacist and team to provide optimal patient experiences. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and help process prescriptions, while modeling professional customer service.

Under supervision, you will support pharmacy operations, patient counseling, and quality improvement initiatives, with opportunities to grow knowledge of policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Pharmacy degree program.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Under pharmacist supervision, assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
• Reviews and complies with Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Performs duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist in accordance with Walgreens SOPs for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
• Assists pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services within the state scope of practice.
• Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors.
