Job summary

Walgreens seeks a pharmacist to provide counseling on medications, ensure proper dispensing, and support regulatory compliance. You will perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, and drive patient-centric services including immunizations within the pharmacy team.

You will collaborate with providers, manage insurance procedures, and contribute to inventory and workflow improvements while delivering excellent customer experiences at Walgreens locations in Dubuque, IA.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, contraindications, generics, OTCs, and privacy.
• Performs pharmacy tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to company policies; supports opening/closing and shift duties.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy technology and systems; proposes improvements to boost productivity.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and handles 3rd party audits.
• Conducts immunizations and preventive care services; engages with providers to optimize therapy.
