Job summary

CVS Health is offering a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern program in our Retail locations, designed to translate classroom learning into real-world practice while preparing you for a Pharmacist role. Under a dedicated preceptor, you’ll follow a training roadmap that builds core competencies across store operations and patient care.

You’ll assist the pharmacy team to ensure safe, accurate dispensing and caring service, learn SOPs, and gain hands-on experience through KLEs and mentoring from district

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Regular attendance, including weekends.
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
• Strong customer service and teamwork.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Mathematical reasoning to compute days’ supply and dosages.
• Problem resolution to address patient or colleague interactions.
• Flexibility to adapt to scheduling and market needs.

Responsibilities

• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on key learning experiences (KLEs).
• Assist pharmacy team to ensure safe, accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Demonstrate empathy and provide caring service to patients.
• Counsel patients and obtain appropriate medical history when appropriate under supervision.
• Support immunizations and point-of-care testing where allowed by law.
• Maintain SOP adherence and protect patient privacy and security.
• Engage in inventory tasks and cycle counts as directed by leadership.
• Travel to stores to cover shifts as needed.
