Job summary

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 90 days of hire.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications and generics.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance to regulations and policies; assists with opening/closing and shift changes.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy systems and supports staff; proposes enhancements to systems.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and follows up with insurers/providers; participates in audits.
• Develops relationships with local medical community and participates in community outreach.
• Assists with staff hiring/training and performance coaching; fosters team development.
• Pursues professional development through training and mentorship.
