Job summary

Walgreens in Santa Clara, CA is seeking an intern pharmacist to perform post-graduate pharmacy activities under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, delivering medication counseling and vaccination services per state guidelines.

You will assist with compounding, dispensing, drug interaction reviews and support workflow, inventory management, and customer experience while preparing for licensure and future responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from accredited University outside the United States.
• FPGEC certification.
• Intern permit/certificate issued by the Board of Pharmacy, if required in your state.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 45 days of intern hours.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become one within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on usage, side effects and interactions under supervision to ensure correct health outcomes.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and drug management.
• Dispenses prescribed medications accurately and supports efficient pharmacy workflow.
• Ensures compliance with regulations, policies and quality standards; supports asset protection and inventory management.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy systems (Intercom Plus, StoreNET) and improves productivity.
• Supports immunizations and preventive health services as part of patient care.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from accredited University outside the United States

Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC)
