Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the pharmacist and pharmacy team in delivering top‑tier patient care and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and help process prescriptions.

Under supervision, you will learn pharmacy policy, procedures, and customer service best practices while building relationships with customers and colleagues and contributing to a positive in‑store experience.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with products and services, resolving questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices to deliver a distinctive Walgreens experience.
• Learn from store and pharmacy teams, and support pharmacist-supervised activities.
• Assist in pharmacy duties under pharmacist supervision, including entering, third‑party processing, filling and dispensing prescriptions.
• Support patient care activities such as counseling and health services within state scope.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and follow quality procedures.
• Handle cash responsibly and assist customers toward OTC products when appropriate.
• Assist with inventory management, stock supplies, and store maintenance of the Pharmacy Department.
• Complete special assignments and other duties as needed.
