Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy degree program and have completed year 2, with registration as Pharmacy Student Intern.
  • Basic familiarity with computers and ability to navigate web-based applications.
  • 0–1 years related work experience.
  • Vocational or technical training in Pharmacy (2nd year) completed at an accredited college.

Responsibilities

  • Develops familiarity with medications, generic and trade names, dosages, and conversions.
  • Distributes automated dispensing cabinetry and monitors discharge/transfer lists.
  • Delivers medications with appropriate labels and reinforces labeling accuracy.
  • Repackages tablets, capsules, and liquids; operates repackaging equipment; assigns expirations.
  • Handles controlled substances and investigational drugs; prepares topical and irrigation solutions.
  • Restocks stock in unit dose areas and satellites; checks for expired meds.
  • Prepares and initiates worklists and labels for drug compounding; aseptic technique in parenteral admixtures.
  • Maintains OR pharmacy stock and completes related charging/documentation.
