Job summary

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the Dearborn Retail Pharmacy department. Under pharmacist supervision, you’ll assist in preparation, storage and distribution of medications across the health system, gaining experience from outpatient to inpatient settings.

The role requires pursuing Pharm.D. studies, a high school diploma, and MI pharmacist intern license upon hire; hours are variable with rotating shifts and part-time status, and Corewell Health

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; pursuing requirements towards a Pharm.D. degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Pharmacist, performs preparation, storage and distribution of medication within the health system.
• Performs higher levels of professional support as they advance through pharmacy school.
• Promotes teamwork to achieve departmental objectives and demonstrates sound judgment.
• Contributes to patient safety and medication information resources across care settings.

About the Unit

The pharmacy department at Dearborn is responsible for providing medication reliably and safely for our patients. We are a resource for medication information for providers, staff and patients. Pharmacy spans across the continuum of care, from outpatient to inpatient, ambulatory and specialty to critical care.

Scope of Work

Under the direction and supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a variety of functions related to preparation, storage and distribution of medication within the health system. The student will perform higher levels of professional support as they advance through pharmacy school. Embraces the goals/objectives encompassing Pharmaceutical activities for the Beaumont Healthcare System. Promotes team efforts to manage and achieve departmental/corporate objectives. Demonstrates good judgment and decisiveness throughout daily activities and personal commitment to professional growth.
