Descripción del empleo

This is a continuous recruitment posting for ongoing hiring needs across our store locations. Applications received under this posting are reviewed regularly as openings become available.

About KTA Super Stores

We owe our century of existence entirely to the people of Hawai'i Island. From our modest beginnings in a 500-square-foot store in 1916, KTA Super Stores and our associates remain deeply rooted in a single, quiet philosophy: to humbly serve the community that sustains us.

Core Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a Pharmacy Intern is to ensure customer satisfaction by accurately assisting the Pharmacists on duty with processing and filling prescriptions, while increasing customer loyalty by providing courteous, pleasant, and patient service.

  • Prescription Processing & Dispensing: Receive prescriptions and medical information from customers. Retrieve proper drugs from shelves, type, bill, count, and package prescriptions using manual tools or automatic pill counters/robots. Charge and collect payments using the POS cash register system.
  • Inventory & Stocking: Properly price, rotate, stock, and merchandise items in correct locations in the pharmacy and on the sales floor. Order, check-in, and store supplies and merchandise; process returns, check for outdated items, and process invoices.
  • Department & Technology Maintenance: Refill and maintain pill-counting technology ("robots"). Keep work areas clean and orderly by dusting, discarding trash, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Customer & Team Engagement: Promptly, courteously, and efficiently greet, thank, offer assistance to, and meet the needs of all customers with local warmth and hospitality. Answer incoming phone calls, transfer calls, troubleshoot insurance claim issues, and handle pages over the PA system.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Environment: Frequently work indoors in a clean, air-conditioned, adequately lighted environment. Occasionally work in a store warehouse (noisy and dusty). Seldom require travel to work at other store locations.
  • Physical Effort: Continuously stand and walk throughout entire shifts; use hands/fingers to open medication stock containers/vials and type on computers. Have corrected vision when verifying prescription and customer information. Occasionally stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb ladders/step-stools. Seldom lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Equipment Use: Frequently use computers, POS registers, counting trays, spatulas, automated pill counters ("robots"), telephones, and office equipment (copiers, fax machines, scanners). Occasionally use box cutters, step-stools, ladders, stock wagons, and hand trucks. Seldom operate company vehicles or forklifts.
  • Safety & Security: Adhere strictly to company safety practices, confidentiality rules, and patient privacy policies.
Benefits & Work Culture
  • Flexible work scheduling.
  • Comprehensive on-the-job training.
  • Health, dental, vision, paid time off, and retirement options for eligible associates.
Notice to Applicants:

This document is a summary job posting for continuous recruitment purposes only. Active openings are filled from this applicant pool on an as-needed basis. Upon hire, associates are required to review, sign, and adhere to the official internal KTA Super Stores Job Description and company standards for this position.
