Job summary
The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Care, seeks a full-time Pharmacy Practice Specialist to join the pharmacy IT team. The Informatics Specialist will design, develop, and implement the Electronic Health Record and Clinical Decision Support, with a focus on oncology pharmacy practice and Epic Beacon/Willow initiatives at CCI sites.
This role supports pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians, and may require occasional travel to regional hospitals and
Qualifications
- Pharmacy informatics experience with EHR systems and CDSS.
- Licensed pharmacist in Iowa by start date.
- Experience in a complex, multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Optimize pharmaceutical care operations and workflow.
- Support implementation and maintenance of medication-use information systems.
- Educate residents, students, and new staff on EHR uses.
- Collaborate with clinicians to develop and monitor pharmacy standards.
- Assist with help desk tickets and end-user support.
- Participate in project planning and program implementation.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and data accuracy in systems.
