Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Care, seeks a full-time Pharmacy Practice Specialist (PPS) to join the pharmacy IT team. The PPS will design, develop, and implement electronic health record and CDS solutions, focusing on oncology workflows and Epic Willow/Beacon initiatives.

Travel to CCI sites may be required. As a clinical informatics expert, you will support pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians, provide education on system upgrades, and help

Qualifications

• ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency required or five years of practice in a complex healthcare setting
• Pharmacy degree and Iowa Pharmacist licensure by start date
• Strong communication and collaboration with clinicians and staff

Responsibilities

• Optimize pharmaceutical care operations and communication of professional practices.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining medication use information systems.
• Educate Pharmacy residents, students, and new staff on EHR and medication use systems.
• Collaborate with hospital departments to evaluate and implement patient services.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality controls.
