Job summary
UnityPoint Health is seeking a Pharmacy Informatics & Medication Safety Specialist to optimize medication management through automated systems and clinical decision support tools. The role focuses on enhancing patient safety via robust system design, EHR enhancements (Epic), and data-driven quality improvement.

Qualifications
- Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from an approved college.
- PGY1 residency and 1 year of practice, or 4 years of pharmacy practice.
- English reading/writing/speaking proficiency required.
- EPIC certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Optimize advanced automation technologies to enhance pharmacy operations and supply chain.
- Develop, deploy, and monitor system safeguards to prevent medication errors, including barcode medication administration, infusion library, and smart pump interoperability utilization and compliance.
- Ensure quality control standards through real-time monitoring and analytics of the medication use process.
- Implement closed-loop medication management systems to enhance patient safety.
- Participate in designing and implementing enhancements within the EHR (Epic).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards through automated tracking and reporting mechanisms.
- Conduct continuous quality improvement using data analytics to identify and mitigate medication safety risks.
