St. Luke's Health System in Meridian, Idaho is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Extern to gain hands-on experience in outpatient operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

You will assist with medication preparation and dispensing, inventory management, and supportive duties while developing foundational pharmacy practice skills in a patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recent graduate from an accredited college of pharmacy program.
• No prior experience required.
• Active Pharmacy Intern/Extern license in the practicing state and current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in compounding and dispensing prescription medications.
• Support pharmacists and pharmacy staff in daily outpatient pharmacy operations.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties related to pharmacy workflow.
• Receive, organize, and store incoming medication and supply shipments.
• Verify stock levels and enter data into pharmacy computer systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain compliance with departmental policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Overview

St. Luke's Health System is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Outpatient Pharmacy Extern to join our pharmacy team in Meridian, Idaho. This position provides hands-on experience in outpatient pharmacy operations while working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Pharmacy Extern assists with medication preparation and dispensing, inventory management, and departmental support activities while developing foundational pharmacy practice skills in a patient-focused environment.
