RB Continuum, Inc (RBCI) is seeking a Pharmacy Equipment Specialist to support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of pharmacy automation and medication dispensing systems within military healthcare environments at Fort Detrick, MD. The role requires hands-on knowledge of automated dispensing cabinets and related packaging and inventory systems.

The ideal candidate has pharmacy operations experience, is a U.S. citizen, and can obtain a NACI clearance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience supporting pharmacy operations or healthcare technology.
  • Experience with pharmacy automation and dispensing systems (Omnicell, Pyxis, ScriptPro, Parata, ADCs).
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment, software, and workflows and coordinate actions with vendors and IT/pharmacy staff.

Position Summary

RBCI is seeking a Pharmacy Equipment Specialist to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of pharmacy automation and medication dispensing systems within military healthcare environments. The specialist will serve as a liaison between pharmacy staff, vendors, biomedical personnel, and facility stakeholders to ensure pharmacy equipment remains operational, compliant, and available to support patient care. The ideal candidate possesses pharmacy operations experience and hands‑on knowledge of automated dispensing cabinets, packaging systems, inventory management solutions, and other pharmacy automation technologies. This position supports the Fort Detrick, MD location (Contractor office within 10 miles of Fort Detrick). This position is hybrid.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The essential and specific functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Support operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pharmacy automation and medication dispensing equipment.
  • Provide technical and functional support for pharmacy systems including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), packaging systems, inventory management solutions, and robotic dispensing equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment installation, relocation, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and service activities with vendors and facility personnel.
  • Assist pharmacy staff with equipment operation, workflow optimization, and issue resolution.
  • Perform routine inspections, operational checks, and basic troubleshooting of pharmacy equipment and software applications.
  • Document equipment issues, service requests, maintenance activities, and corrective actions.
  • Track equipment status and assist with lifecycle management, inventory accountability, and replacement planning.
  • Coordinate with biomedical engineering, information technology, and pharmacy personnel to resolve equipment and connectivity issues.
  • Support validation and testing activities following equipment upgrades, software updates, or configuration changes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare, pharmacy, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist with training end users on pharmacy equipment operation and best practices.
  • Support data collection, reporting, and performance metrics related to pharmacy equipment operations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience supporting pharmacy operations, pharmacy automation systems, healthcare technology, medical logistics, or clinical equipment in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience supporting pharmacy automation and medication dispensing systems such as Omnicell, Pyxis, ScriptPro, Parata, automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), packaging systems, or inventory management solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment, software, and workflow issues and coordinate corrective actions with vendors, IT personnel, pharmacy staff, and biomedical engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with healthcare logistics, maintenance, or asset management systems such as AIMS, DMLSS, DML-ES, Maximo, TMS, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation, equipment evaluations, operational reports, and end-user support materials.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a NACI (background investigation) clearance.
  • Ability to travel to fixed-facility hospitals and healthcare sites as required (typically 2-8 trips annually).
