Registers sales on assigned cash register, provides courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service to customers.
Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations, in the practice of pharmacy. Responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Shares customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or companion products.
- Processes transactions, including voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges; assists customers in locating products.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and records transactions. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and assisting pharmacists with workflow and scheduling.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
- Follows Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
- Handles non-urgent telephone inquiries, including calls to physicians.
- Processes manual third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals; files claims for overages, shortages, errors, or damaged goods.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
- Constructs and maintains store displays, completes resets, and assists with product placement and stock rotation.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photos, poster prints, and promotional photo products.
- Handles web order pick-up responsibilities, including monitoring and delivering orders.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance.
- Follows all company policies and maintains respectful coworker relationships.
- Performs additional tasks and special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification through training and continuing education.
- Attends training, completes required courses, and stays informed on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements include:
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
