Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or companion products to customers.
- Processes transactions on the cash register, including handling cash, returns, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products in the store.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and records stock levels. Assists in pricing and stocking merchandise as directed by management.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, assisting with prescription filling, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions. Supports pharmacists with workflow management.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy safety and quality standards.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, including communication with physicians.
- Manages third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and reports discrepancies or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
- Creates and maintains visual displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and updates them as needed.
- Assists with product placement and stock rotation following store policies.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment to provide effective customer service.
- Provides photo services, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional products.
- Handles web order pick-up duties, including monitoring and fulfilling online orders.
- Supports store cleanliness and organization, ensuring a neat and inviting environment.
- Follows all company policies, maintains respectful relationships with coworkers, and completes assigned tasks.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification through designated training and continuing education.
- Attends training sessions, completes required coursework, and stays informed about healthcare and pharmacy developments.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
