Synchrony Pharmacy, headquartered in Louisville, KY, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to act as a liaison between customers and the pharmacy, handling complaints, orders, and inquiries for residents in long-term care settings.

The role requires a High School diploma (Associates preferred) with 1–3 years of healthcare customer service and solid computer skills. Work hours are 11:00 AM–7:30 PM; the position offers competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years customer service experience in healthcare, senior living, pharmacy or long-term care environment preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between customers and the pharmacy, assisting with complaints, orders, errors, account questions, billing and other inquiries.
  • Provides customer service and issue resolution.
  • Negotiates and coordinates with Pharmacy to obtain prescriptions for controlled drugs.
  • Resolves rejections, denials and PA’s related to Medicaid, Medicare D or Private Insurance.
  • Onboards prospective patients and conducts patient follow-up as directed by Pharmacist in Charge.
  • Communicates with Executives, Pharmacist in Charge, Responsible Parties, Physicians and insurance plans regarding coverage issues.
  • Provides training to staff to meet company standards.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Supports special projects and company goals.

Responsibilities

Acts as a liaison between all customers and the pharmacy. Assists with complaints, orders, errors, account questions, billing, and other queries.

Hours

11 AM- 7:30 PM

Duties
  • Provides customer service and issue/resolution.
  • Partners with Pharmacy to obtain necessary prescriptions for controlled drugs.
  • Resolves rejections, denials and PA’s associated with all adjudicated Medicaid, Medicare D or Private Insurance claims.
  • Connects with prospective patients for Onboarding and assists with Patient follow‑up and inquiries as directed by the Pharmacist In Charge.
  • Serves as the communication liaison regarding medication or resident coverage issues with Executive Directors, Pharmacist in Charge, Responsible Parties, Physicians, PDP’s/Insurance plans.
  • Provides training to other staff necessary to successful performance, company standards and expectations and cross‑functional awareness and proficiencies.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights are protected.
  • Assists with special projects as needed.
  • Meets Expectations of Excellence for position.

  • Complies with all laws, regulations and standards of ethical conduct.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Iowa Pharmacy Technician License.
Experience
  • One (1) to three (3) years’ customer service experience. Healthcare, senior living industry, pharmacy or long-term care environment preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year multi‑facility experience preferred.
  • Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
