Job Summary: Assist pharmacists in preparation and dispensing of medications, drug procurement and inventory control, proper drug storage, performance improvement and quality control activities. Ability to perform sterile compounding per USP <797> and <800> requirements and have knowledge of viable testing requirements for a Pharmacy cleanroom. Work only under the supervision and direction of a pharmacist in accordance with established policies and procedures and in keeping with the scope of services provided. Facilitate drug compliance with Joint Commission and Department of Health standards for drug security and storage under the direction of the Pharmacy Team Leader and Director of Pharmacy. Act as a backup for Pharmacy Purchaser and inventory needs Reports to: Pharmacy Team Leader
Minimum Qualifications:
Success Factors: Licensure as Pharmacy Technician II/Intern in the State of Rhode Island upon hire and annually thereafter, or a Pharmacy Technician I with Pharmacy Technology II licensure obtained within a 90-day probationary period. Mathematical ability to perform algebraic calculations and a working knowledge of the metric system. Prior experience in health system pharmacy. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with pharmacy computer systems, automated dispensing technology and Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Self-motivated and ability to self-direct.
Salary range: 21.45-27.89
