Job summary

PharMerica is seeking a patient account collections specialist to manage collection efforts for private accounts. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, explain billing, and pursue past-due balances using approved collection techniques.

Collaborate with pharmacy billing for accurate billing, assist with special projects, and ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements. Prior healthcare billing or AS400 experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year billing/collections experience.
• Data entry, MS Excel and Word basic computer skills.
• Healthcare billing/3rd party experience and AS400 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage collection efforts for patient-level accounts.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls to explain billing and collect on past-due accounts.
• Follow up on balances by applying approved collection techniques to resolve accounts.
• Collaborate with pharmacy billing to ensure accurate billing and resident information.
• Prepare and mail outbound collection letters for 90-day active/inactive accounts.
• Support Private Collections Manager and other team members on special projects.
