ShopRite of Rockaway in Rockaway, NJ is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk to support the Pharmacy Department with cashier duties, customer service, stocking, and cleaning to ensure efficient operations. The role involves handling prescriptions, maintaining privacy, and assisting customers with care and accuracy.

The position emphasizes safety, friendliness, and efficiency, with opportunities to grow knowledge in merchandising and display within a leading retailer.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must maintain proper state licensing or certifications.
• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.; occasional up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to use computer hardware and software.
• Overtime as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Greet all Customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Accurately ring the sale of prescriptions.
• Accurately and quickly collect proper payment and provide change.
• Comply with State and Federal drug laws and privacy regulations.
• Maintain appropriate security of Pharmacy Department.
• Exhibit professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with health information.
• Answer the telephone in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Handle patient/customer prescription data accurately and securely.
• Organize and stock pharmaceuticals as directed by Pharmacist.
• Assist Customers in locating over-the-counter stock.
• Promote current charitable promotions to Customers.
