Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to perform benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and patient outreach within the outpatient pharmacy. Under direct supervision of an operations manager, you will document results in the patient chart and coordinate prescription delivery with the Home Delivery pharmacy.

The role requires a Massachusetts Pharmacy license, national certification upon hire or within 6 months, and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of related experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Must have proficiency in math and computer use.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions with accuracy and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Completes benefit investigations and documents results in patient chart.
• Submit prior authorizations to insurance via multiple methods.
• Follow up with insurance decisions, rejections, and prescription filling information.
• Coordinate prescription delivery with Home Delivery pharmacy and clinic team.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist in quality indicator monitoring.
