Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to perform benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and patient outreach in the Home Delivery Pharmacy. Under supervision, you’ll document results in the patient chart and assist with prescription coordination for home delivery.

The role requires a MA Pharmacy license, 1+ year of related experience, math proficiency, and good computer skills. A signing bonus may be available; the team emphasizes respect and teamwork across the health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current MA Board of Pharmacy license is required.
• National certification through PTCB or ExCPT is preferred; if not certified within 6 months, certification must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Complete benefit investigations and document results in the medical record.
• Submit prior authorizations to insurance and follow up on decisions.
• Explain manufacturer savings opportunities to providers and patients.
• Follow up with patients regarding insurance decisions and prescription details.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate prescription delivery with Home Delivery Pharmacy.
• Assist in quality monitoring and process improvement initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement projects and teamwork within the department.
