Pharmacy Account Executive - Remote - California

Role Summary

As part of Cigna Pharmacy Management, the Pharmacy Account Management Advisor serves as the primary pharmacy benefits subject matter expert supporting Cigna Pharmacy clients in the under 500 employee market segment and limited responsibilities in the under 3000 employee segment.

The Pharmacy Account Executive will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, brokers/consultants, supporting the Medical Sales teams with client retention and growth strategies, and providing expertise with implementation, reporting, and day-to-day service functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retain assigned book of business in California.
  • Educate and advance pharmacy knowledge within the Cigna Medical Sales organization.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to review performance and promote pharmacy management programs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand pharmacy earnings contribution.
  • Partner with Medical Sales, underwriting, and other teams for pricing, competitive intelligence, and renewal strategies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate external messaging for core service delivery.
  • Facilitate service concern resolution meetings.
  • Analyze pharmacy utilization to provide consultative solutions.
  • Develop understanding of client needs and goals.
  • Provide pricing, audit, and contract support.
  • Explain pharmacy coverage rules based on policies.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • 3+ years of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience.
  • Experience with client management methodologies.
  • Ability to manage renewals independently.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.

Note: Internet connection must be via cable broadband or fiber optic with at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds.

Salary range: $94,700 - $157,900 annually, plus potential bonus.
