Job summary

Lifepoint Health® is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist at Haywood Regional in Clyde, North Carolina. This position emphasizes a commitment to community health and involves managing drug therapy protocols and providing drug education.

The ideal candidate possesses a Doctoral degree in Pharmacy and must be licensed in North Carolina. This role offers variable PRN scheduling and a comprehensive benefits package, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have an active pharmacy license in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Manage drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Review and evaluate medication orders for potential drug-related issues.
• Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Document interventions and their outcomes.
• Evaluate medication orders for accuracy before entry.
• Check accuracy after filling by technicians.

Our 24‑hour pharmacy offers opportunities to perform clinical pharmacy services for patients in various departments of the hospital, including ICU, PCU/Cardiac, and the Emergency Department. How You’ll Contribute

• Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
• Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.
• Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
• Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry.
• Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should possess a Doctoral degree in Pharmacy (PharmD), along with a pharmacy license active in North Carolina. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
