Job summary

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with UPMC and Select Medical, seeks a Pharmacist for per diem coverage, primarily on weekends with potential weekday opportunities. Compensation is $65.00 per hour.

The role involves drug distribution, IV admixture and clinical support within a fast-paced hospital setting. Minimum qualifications include state licensure and compliance with required certifications; preferred candidates have PharmD/BS Pharmacy and/or a hospital pharmacy

Qualifications

• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Responsibilities

• Have a working knowledge of drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Inform and instruct patients on drugs to be used after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
