Job summary

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital, inside UPMC West Shore, seeks a Clinical Pharmacist to support hospital pharmacy operations, drug distribution, IV admixture, and clinical medication management in a fast-paced rehab environment.

You will educate patients on discharge meds, participate in staff training, monitor drug therapies, and contribute to quality improvement, with a per diem cadence of 1–2 weekends a month and potential weekday opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Inform and instruct patients on meds after discharge.
• Develop and participate in training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.

A UPMC and Select Medical Partnership Position: Clinical Pharmacist Location: inside UPMC West Shore Schedule:Per Diem, 1 to 2 weekends per month, potential for week day opportunties.

Compensation: $65.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
