Job summary

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist to join our inpatient rehabilitation team on a per diem basis, working 1 to 2 weekends per month with potential weekday opportunities.

The role involves drug distribution, central operations, and IV admixture, offering clinical support in a fast-paced hospital setting. The pharmacist will ensure adequate drug supplies, educate patients on discharge medications, and contribute to ongoing staff training and quality initiatives within

Qualifications

• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.
• Post offer employment testing (POETs) completed before start.

Responsibilities

• Have a working knowledge of drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Inform and instruct patients on drugs to be used after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Position: Pharmacist

Location: inside UPMC West Shore

Schedule: Per Diem, 1 to 2 weekends per month, potential for week day opportunties.

Compensation: $65.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
