Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment preferred.
• No history of alcohol or drug misuse for three years before employment.
• Familiarity with MAT, including safe handling of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission).

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions and verifies physician instructions on medication amounts.
• Checks for drug interactions and patient conditions that may affect prescriptions.
• Instructs patients on how and when to take medications and informs about potential side effects.
• Advises patients on general health topics and appropriate equipment or supplies.
• Teaches other healthcare practitioners about proper medication therapies.
• Completes insurance forms and liaises with insurers to ensure access to medicines.
• May supervise pharmacy technicians and interns.
• Maintains required records and performs administrative tasks for clinic pharmacy practice.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
