Job summary

Cumming Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in Georgia is seeking a Pharmacist to support our outpatient MAT program. The pharmacist ensures accurate dispensing, maintains records, and applies safe medication practices in a clinic setting.

The role requires collaboration with physicians, nurses, counselors, and support staff to optimize patient care, plus completing insurance documentation. GA license is required; prior MAT experience is preferred, with PRN shifts offering flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an accredited college or university is required.
• Prefer previous experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment.
• No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) including safe handling, administration, and documentation of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission) related to controlled substances and patient care.
• Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Understanding of clinical best practices related to substance use treatment, including trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions and verifies physician instructions.
• Checks for drug interactions and patient conditions.
• Instructs patients on how and when to take medications and potential side effects.
• Advises patients on general health topics and equipment.
• Teaches other healthcare practitioners about medication therapies.
• Completes insurance forms and works with insurers.
• Oversees technicians/interns as needed.
• Maintains required records and performs administrative tasks.
