Pharmacist- PRN (Outpatient) at Comprehensive Treatment Centers

Outpatient MAT Opioid Treatment Program (OTP)

Seeking: Pharmacist

PRN Hours: As needed, Monday - Friday, 4:45 AM - 11:30 AM

Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel to Cartersville CTC, Woodstock CTC, Loganville CTC, and Cumming CTC as needed. Dallas CTC is the home base location.

Location: Dallas Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), Dallas, Georgia.

Your Job As a Pharmacist: The Pharmacist is responsible for the accountability of prescription medications to patients and the maintenance of accurate records; provides expertise in the safe use of prescription medications in an outpatient clinic setting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Fills prescriptions and verifies instructions from physicians on the proper amounts of medication to give to patients.
  • Checks whether prescriptions will interact negatively with other drugs that a patient is taking or any medical conditions.
  • Instructs patients on how and when to take a prescribed medicine and informs them about potential side effects.
  • Advises patients about general health topics such as diet, exercise, managing stress, and recommendations on equipment or supplies for health problems.
  • Teaches other healthcare practitioners about proper medication therapies for patients.
  • Completes insurance forms and works with insurance companies to ensure that patients get the medicines they need.
  • May oversee the work of pharmacy technicians and/or pharmacists in training (interns).
  • Keeps required federal, state, local or corporate records and performs other administrative tasks necessary for the professional practice of pharmacy in a clinic.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Your Education, Skills And Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an accredited college or university required.
  • Preferred previous experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment.
  • No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment.
  • Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including the safe handling, administration, and documentation of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards) related to controlled substances and patient care.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, counselors, case managers, and support staff, to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Understanding of clinical best practices related to substance use treatment, including trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Must have a current Pharmacist License in the state of Georgia.

Eligible positions may qualify for student loan forgiveness through HRSA, depending on clinic site eligibility.
