Job summary

Acadia Healthcare's Cumming Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in Cumming, GA, is seeking a Pharmacist to join its outpatient MAT OTP program on a PRN as-needed basis. You will be responsible for accountability of prescription medications and maintaining accurate records in an outpatient clinic setting.

You will fill prescriptions, verify dosing, check interactions, counsel patients, assist with insurance forms, and help train staff.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an accredited college or university.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and safe handling of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
• Knowledge of DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards related to controlled substances.
• Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care.
• Understanding of clinical best practices in substance use treatment, including trauma-informed care.
• No history of alcohol or drug misuse for three years before employment.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions and verifies physician instructions on quantities.
• Checks for drug interactions and medical conditions that affect therapy.
• Instructs patients on how to take medications and potential side effects.
• Advises patients on general health topics and equipment or supplies for treatment.
• Teaches other healthcare practitioners about proper medication therapies.
• Completes insurance forms to ensure patient access to medicines.
• Oversees pharmacy technicians and maintains required records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
