Job summary

The Pharmacist Manager role at The Cigna Group oversees daily operations of pharmacists and technicians in a fulfillment center, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely dispensing of specialty medications. You will lead staffing, training, performance reviews, and cross-functional collaboration to meet service standards.

Requires a Pharm.D./B.S. in Pharmacy with at least 3 years of relevant experience and Utah licensure.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ relevant experience
• Home Infusion/Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred
• Prior people management experience preferred
• Pharmacist License in good standing in Utah
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues
• PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Good organizational ability; Strong attention to detail; Ability to work in fast-paced production environment; willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
• Must be willing to obtain additional state licensures as required by business need

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day prescription dispensing in the fulfillment center.
• Verify prescription information entered in the system by data entry or order entry.
• As Pharmacist-in-Charge, responsible for compliance with all applicable federal and state laws relating to the practice of pharmacy and the supervision of all pharmacy personnel.
• Schedule and monitor staff and day-to-day workflow.
• Develop employee’s skills, evaluate performance and provide feedback.
• Oversees resolution of employee relations.
• Conducts hiring, training and evaluation of staff.
• Develop, track and monitor employees’ compliance to quality, service and production standards.
• Monitor prescription turnaround time so that internal standards and client performance guarantees are met.
• Assist Senior Pharmacy Manager in monitoring costs to ensure compliance with cost to fill goals.
• Address staff concerns and day-to-day operational, system, customer service, quality and professional issues.
• Serve as a point of escalation for issues requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve.
• Represents pharmacy operations in cross-functional meetings and projects.
• Other special projects and tasks as assigned.
