Job summary

CVS Health, a leading retail pharmacy, seeks a Staff Pharmacist to lead the pharmacy team in a busy retail setting. You will ensure safe dispensing, patient counseling, and immunizations while upholding the company’s standards for safety and quality.

In this role, you’ll supervise shifts when the pharmacist-on-duty, coach staff on performance, manage inventory, and collaborate with the broader health care team to optimize patient outcomes. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Regular and predictable attendance, including weekends.
• Oversee pharmacy operations as proxy during shifts and provide coaching feedback to the Pharmacy Manager.
• Assume manager duties when serving as primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment and follow workflow procedures.
• Deliver compassionate patient care and resolve insurance or medication issues.
• Offer and deliver immunizations and support technicians in immunization training.
• Manage pharmacy inventory with emphasis on cold chain protection.
• Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain scheduling flexibility and assist the Pharmacy Manager with staffing.
• Maintain clinical and technical skills through required trainings and CMEs.
