Overview

Hours: Variable shift mixture of AM shifts and PM shifts general staffing with some Oncology cross coverage.

Purpose Statement / Position Summary

The Pharmacist is responsible for the daily organization and supervision of all drug distribution activities, providing education on medication related issues, and provision of clinical services including ongoing drug usage evaluation and participation in performance improvement activities. The Pharmacist II is responsible for evaluating medication orders and for providing efficient, quality, cost‑effective pharmaceutical care: a direct copy of each medication order is received, evaluated and processed; performs duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by law. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology as related to drug usage and common disease states.
  • Ability to apply current pharmacological and biopharmaceutical principles for the selection and use of drug products in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to prepare drugs for administration and to give advice on and monitor the use of drugs in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and standards relative to Institutional Pharmacy.
Education / Licensure / Certification

Current pharmacy licensure in the State of California.

Pay Scale Information

$136,427.00–$224,130.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
