Job summary

Indian Health Service—Pine Ridge Service Unit Pharmacy Department is seeking a Pharmacist Informatics specialist to provide ongoing support of multi-service clinical software applications used in hospital and clinic settings for PRSU Pharmacy Services.

The role includes developing pharmacology informatics programs, evaluating health information systems related to medications, and maintaining the eMAR and drug files. A clinical staff pharmacist role is included as part of duties.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Pharmacy recognized by the ACPE or accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
• License to practice pharmacy in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.

Responsibilities

• Develops, designs, implements and manages a pharmacology informatics program using automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practices and systems.
• Evaluates health information systems and implements improvements as it relates to medication.
• Maintains and optimizes the facility drug file and Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR).
• Performs duties as a clinical staff pharmacist.
