Job summary

The Indian Health Service seeks a Pharmacist specializing in clinical informatics to coordinate the implementation, management, and development of the EHR and other clinical packages. The role includes training providers, developing protocols, and ensuring data validity and security within Parker, AZ and Fort Duchesne, UT.

The incumbent reports to the Chief of Pharmacy and serves as an outpatient pharmacist providing on-site support, accurate dispensing, and patient counseling on dosage regimens

Qualifications

• A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the ACPE or accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• GS-12 level specialized experience or equivalent as described in the minimum qualifications section.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the local setup and maintenance of clinical software along with the implementation of new clinical packages/software patches.
• Analyzes and evaluates processes related to information flow and serves as a liaison between service lines concerning data flow.
• Trains providers and system users to incorporate new technology and develops tools to improve documentation and data security.
• Develops treatment protocols, standards of practice, and policies related to the EHR through collaboration with health professionals.
• Provides outpatient pharmaceutical support, including dispensing medications and advising on dosage regimens and storage.

Doctoral degree in Pharmacy ACPE-accredited
