Job summary

Essentia Health Deer River Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge for ambulatory services. The pharmacist will oversee dispensing, immunizations, and clinical initiatives to optimize drug therapy while supervising staff, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with state Boards of Pharmacy rules.

Educational requirements include a Doctorate or BS Pharm from an accredited college; licensure in Minnesota/Wisconsin; BLS and Immunization certification within 90 days where

Qualifications

• Pharmacy licensure appropriate to the state where working.
• Ambulatory: Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (BS or PharmD).
• Licensed as Pharmacist in Charge/Managing Pharmacist within applicable states.
• Ongoing continuing education and license renewal as required by the state Board of Pharmacy.
• BLS certification within one week of hire (Ambulatory).
• Immunization certificate required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• This position oversees interpretation, dispensing and monitoring of medications to provide quality pharmaceutical services.
• Oversees sterile compounding operations for infusion centers or ambulatory surgery centers.
• Supervises and trains pharmacy staff, technicians, and students; handles training of new staff.
• Performs duties related to inventory control, cash handling, and monthly audits.
• Resolves customer service issues and participates in clinical initiatives to optimize drug therapy.
