Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Pharmacist to join our high-impact LTC pharmacy team. The role focuses on evaluating orders, ensuring accurate labeling, and collaborating with nursing staff and physicians to optimize patient care.

Responsibilities include supervising medication preparation, addressing therapy changes with physicians, and maintaining comprehensive patient records. This position emphasizes meticulous attention to detail and independent work in a fast-paced LTC environment.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist licensed by the KY Board of Pharmacy.
• Experience in Long Term Care preferred.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with strong multitasking.
• Able to work independently and efficiently.
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with LTC software.
• Ability to sit/stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and administration.
• Ensure dispensed medicines are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team members about medication-related queries.
• Supervise preparation of medicines.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and client facilities staff when needed.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Maintain customers’ database with medical history and clinical data.

License Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Ensure that dispensed medicines are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members in regard to medication-related query.
• Supervise the preparation of any medicines.

Qualifications

• Must be multi-tasking and reliable.
• Computer literate, knowledge of Frameworks LTC system, PLUS.
• Ability to physically perform light lifting.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
