Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical is seeking a pharmacist to support medication distribution, compounding and patient-focused therapy across all age groups. The role includes reviewing and monitoring therapy, ensuring accuracy of dispensing, and contributing to optimal medication management in a hospital setting.

Candidates must be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program and hold (or will hold on hire) Georgia licensure; hospital experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.
• No experience required; hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in Georgia; license required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, documents and compounds drugs, solutions and equipment for patients and staff.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy across infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and ensures competency of staff.

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
