Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy team. The role covers distribution, compounding, dispensing, and documentation of drugs and equipment to support patients and staff.

You will review and monitor medication therapy for diverse age groups, including dosing variations and nutritional needs. The position includes supervising pharmacy technicians, ensuring accurate orders, and promoting patient-focused care throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s or higher in Pharmacy required.
• Georgia Pharmacist license (PHARMD) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs distribution, compounding, dispensing and documentation of drugs, solutions and equipment to meet patient and staff needs.
• Reviews, monitors and optimizes medication therapy across age groups (infants to geriatrics).
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and ensures compliance of order processing by support staff.
• Maintains competency and engages in professional development to support optimal patient care.

Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
