Piedmont Newton Hospital seeks a Pharmacist to join our hospital team, handling distribution, compounding, dispensing, and monitoring of medications for diverse patient populations. You will supervise technicians, ensure safe medication practices, and engage in clinical patient care.
Education required includes ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree with a PharmD/Bachelor's or higher, GA licensure on hire, and hospital experience preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position in Georgia.
Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
