Job summary

Piedmont-Healthcare's Piedmont Newnan Hospital seeks a licensed pharmacist to perform distribution, compounding, dispensing and medication therapy review across pediatric to geriatric patients. You will supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure safe, optimal pharmacotherapy. Requires ACPE-accredited PharmD or B.S.

in Pharmacy, Georgia licensure, and readiness for hospital practice. No experience required; hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy required.
• Licensed Pharmacist in Georgia upon hire required.

• Distributes, documents and compounds drugs, solutions and equipment for patients and staff.
• Reviews, compounds, dispenses and monitors medication therapy across age groups; supervises pharmacy technicians.

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.
